Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Licensed Clinical Social Workers help clients deal with mental and emotional health issues. There are a wide variety of specializations you can focus on: mental health issues, substance abuse, public health, school social work, medical social work, marriage counseling, or children/family therapy.

  • You need to receive a Bachelor’s degree in a closely related field, such as psychology, child development, social work, or sociology.

  • Next, you need to earn your Master of Social Work degree. Some states require you to accumulate supervised clinical experience.

  • Finally, you must pass the social work licensure exam.
