Certified Medication Aide

Certified Medication Aides are responsible for administering medications, observing, reporting and documenting client status, comply with legal and ethical guidelines and apply safety principles. An understanding metric and standard measurement systems such as weight, volume and conversions. Must have a basic knowledge of body systems and common diseases.

  • Must have a high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma and be able to read on an 8th grade level.

  • Attend an approved training program.

  • Pass State Certification which is regulated by the Oklahoma Health Care Authority for Nurse Aide Registry.

  • Renew certification every year. Must attend an 8 hour continuing education class and be currently certified in LTC. Students must provide a social security card or proof of US citizenship and must pass a background check.  Pass state certification exam.

  • 72 hours of Theory/Lab/Clinical;

  • Must be able to pass medications to 20 residents with 100% accuracy

  • Long-term care facilities

  • Assisted living

  • Adult day care

  • Residential Care facilities
