Advanced Emergency Medical Technician

An Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) provides the more advanced duties of the EMT. They will learn medical and legal considerations, communication, terminology, advanced airway management, IV therapy skills, trauma and medical management, ventilation, and shock management.

  • You must be currently certified as an EMT.  

  • You must attend an accredited and approved training program through the State of Oklahoma EMS Division.

  • You must pass a criminal background check, read on a high school level and pass all Oklahoma and National skill and written exams.

  • 180 hours of Theory and Lab;

  • 140 hours of clinical rotation with an Ambulance service

  • Ambulance service

  • Fire department

  • Police department

  • Volunteer Fire Department

  • Industry Safety
