Advanced Certified Medication Aide
Advanced Certified Medication Aides are responsible for administering medications, observing, reporting, and documenting client status, complying with legal and ethical guidelines, and applying safety principles. These advanced certifications include Diabetes- Insulin Administration and Monitoring, Metered Dose Inhalers, Nebulizers, and Nasogastric/Gastrostomy tubes.

Must have a high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma and be able to read on an 8th grade level.

Attend an approved training program.

Pass State Certification which is regulated by the Oklahoma Health Care Authority for Nurse Aide Registry. Renew certification every year. Must maintain CMA certification and be currently certified in LTC.

Students must provide a social security card or proof of US citizenship and must pass a background check.

Current CNA and CMA certifications listed on the State Nurse Aide Registry with no abuse notations.
