EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN
(EMT)
Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) care for the sick or injured in emergency medical settings. People’s lives often depend on the quick reaction and competent care provided by these workers. EMTs respond to emergency calls, performing medical services and transporting patients to medical facilities.
EDUCATION REQUIRED
Must attend an approved training program which accredited by the Oklahoma and National EMS agency through the Oklahoma Health Care Authority. You must pass a criminal background check and be able to read on the high school level. You must pass state and national skills exam and written state/national EMT skill and written exam.
PROGRAM LENGTH
216 hours of Theory and Lab; 48 hours of clinical rotation with an Ambulance service
